Overview
The Alero returns with a decreased standard equipment list. It is again available in six models: GX, GL, and GLS in both Coupe and Sedan. Also offered is the GL2 trim package, which adds the 3.4L V-6 engine, ABS brakes, 16-inch aluminum wheels, floor mats, and the Performance Suspension Package. New for 2003, the Alero offers the optional XM Satellite Radio, which features 100 coast-to-coast digital channels including music, talk radio, sports, children's programs, and 24-hour news. The optional Sun and Sound Package features a power sunroof and a premium eight-speaker sound system with cassette and CD. Other options include floor mats, a rear spoiler, and an engine block heater. A five-speed manual transmission is available on GX models.
