Overview

For 2000, the base Porsche Boxster receives a larger displacement engine, increasing the horsepower from 201 hp to 215 hp. The new Boxster S arrives with a 3.2 liter flat-six engine that produces 248 hp. Additional Boxster S upgrades include a sport tuned suspension, larger performance tires, a keyless entry remote system and a 6-speed manual transmission. Standard equipment on both models includes leather power seats, an AM/FM stereo with cassette, and alloy wheels. The optional Sport Package includes a wind stop, cruise control, an AM/FM stereo with CD player and an upgraded sound system. Interior trim packages are featured in carbon fiber, dark burr maple or leather. Additional options include a sport chassis and traction control.
