Overview

The 2000 Sonata is available in two trim levels: Base and GLS. The Sonata adds 15-inch alloy wheels as standard equipment. The keyless entry remote is no longer offered as a no-cost feature. The AM/FM cassette with CD is now optional. Both models include air conditioning, cruise control, and a power package standard. The driver+s 6-way adjustable seat is standard on GLS. The Sonata comes standard with 2.4-liter inline-four engine, or an optional 2.5-liter V-6 engine. The Sonata upgraded the safety features by making side airbags standard equipment. The Passenger Detection System features a detection system that disables the front passenger-side airbag when the seat is empty or lightly loaded.
