Overview
For 1999, the redesigned Volkswagen Eurovan bows to the US market sporting enhanced engineering, safety, and equipment levels compared to previous offerings. Each model comes with a unique seating arrangement. The GLS contains forward-facing two passenger center and three passenger rear bench seats. The MV has two separate rear-facing seats and a folding table, positioned back-to-back with front passenger seats, and a three passenger rear bench seat with bed conversion capability. For safety, 4-wheel ABS and traction control are standard. The VR6 engine, typically found in VW+s sports cars, is specifically tuned with increased torque for the Eurovan . Towing capacity is thus rated at 4,400 pounds, or nearly 1,000 pounds of cargo.
