Overview
For 1999, the Mountaineer 2WD and 4WD sport utility vehicles now include standard running boards, luggage rack, floor mats and a retractable cargo cover. New optional features include rear load leveling system, reverse sensing system, side air bags and the new TravelNote digital memo recorder is included with the optional Homelink universal garage door opener. Standard features include second generation air bags, SecuriLock anti-theft ignition system, two-tone paint, cruise control and tilt steering wheel. The optional 5.0 liter V8 engine is only available with the 2WD model or is included with the AWD option. The integrated child seat is no longer available. Available option packages include the Convenience Group and the Luxury Group.
