Overview
For 1999, the SL+s get new SLK-style side mirrors, body-color door handles and side moldings, new taillights, rear valance panel and tailpipe design. Also new, 17-inch tires and wheels are now standard; and 18-inch tires and wheels are optional with the Sport Package. The Sport Package also includes a special front fascia with integrated projector beam fog lights, side skirts and rear fascia. The instrument panel is now the same color as the interior and houses new chrome-ringed gauges. Other interior changes for 1999 include new 4-spoke steering wheel, new-design shifter and wood-framed shift gate. The SL500 gets an all new V-8 that meets the Ultra Low Emission Vehicle standards and is certified as a California Low Emissions Vehicle.
