Overview

For 1999, the C-Class sedan is available in three models - the C230 Kompressor, C280 and C43. New for 1999, the C230 Kompressor replaces the previous C230 and includes the 185 horsepower supercharged 2.3 liter engine from the SLK roadster. Standard features on all models include side air bags, traction control and 10-way power driver seat. The high performance C43 also includes the 320 horsepower 4.2 liter V8 engine, sport suspension, and low-profile 17-inch tires. The C230 and C280 are available with a Sport Package which includes 16-inch alloy wheels with low profile tires, sport-tuned suspension, leather sport bucket seats and telescopic steering column with sport steering wheel.
