Overview
The Town Car sedan arrives this year with several key enhancements. Among these are a new Alpine audio system which replaces the former JBL system, interior appearance enhancements, and several exterior and interior color changes. Most notable, however, is the addition of side-impact airbags for all models. Other standard safety features include sturdy body-on-frame construction, four wheel anti-lock brakes, and all-speed traction control. A fail-safe cooling system now protects the engine from severe damage caused by coolant loss. A sensor monitors temperature if the coolant is lost and, if predetermined temperature levels are detected, the computer shuts down some cylinders allowing them to pump only air, thus cooling the engine.
