Overview
The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD debuts this year boasting an all new design and many technological improvements. The most notable changes include a new 4.7L V8 engine with more horsepower and improved fuel economy, a new multi-speed automatic transmission, a four wheel anti-lock brake system with electronic brake distribution, and improved interior ergonomics with greater cargo and passenger room. An all new Quadra-Drive four wheel drive system is an industry exclusive optional feature. This system is a combination of the Quadra-Trac II transfer case and Vari-Lok progressive front and rear axle differentials. Power transfer is proportional to wheel speed difference and can be directed nearly 100% to one wheel if it has the greatest traction.
