Overview

For the 1998 model year, the Chevrolet Prizm sedan returns with few changes to the interior and exterior. With the standard 120hp 1.8 liter engine on both models, three transmissions, a standard 5-speed manual and optional 3-speed or 4-speed automatic are available. Safety equipment includes air bags, brake/transmission shift interlock, daytime running lights with automatic headlight control, child safety locks and optional side air bags. The suspension now includes a front and rear stabilizer bar on both models. The LSi model offers the same equipment as the base model, adding a remote keyless entry system with illumination, speed control and carpeted floor mats. Power windows are now optional on both Base and LSi models.
