Intellichoice Review
The 1996 RAV4 is available in four models - two door 2WD and 4WD and four door 2WD and 4WD. The RAV4 was originally released in Japan in May of 1994 and sold at a rate of almost 100,000 a year. Forty percent of the RAV4+s parts came from the companies parts bin. The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine is originally from the second generation Camry and its front suspension and all-wheel-drive system are borrowed from the Celica All-Trac. Safety features consist of side impact door beams, high mounted stop lamp and energy absorbing steering wheel. Standard interior features include front bucket seats and carpeting. In addition to several appearance packages, optional equipment available include anti-lock brakes, aluminum wheels and cruise control.
