Overview
The 1996 Firebird convertible is available in three models - (Base) Firebird, Formula and Trans Am. New for 1996, is a standard 3800 series II V6 engine available with the base model Firebird, and a 285 horsepower V8 and six-speed manual transmission with the Formula and Trans Am. Other standard features include power top with glass rear window defogger leather wrapped steering wheel, CFC-free air conditioning, power door locks, power windows, dual power mirrors, a theft deterrent system and cruise control. Optional features include traction control, trunk mounted remote 12 CD changer and leather wrapped steering wheel with radio controls and leather appointment group. Dual air bags and anti-lock brakes are standard safety features.
