Overview
The 1996 Jaguar sedan is available in four models-XJ6, Vanden Plas, XJR and XJ12. All models meet the 1997 Federal Safety Standards and come equipped with sunroof and automatic temperature control. The VDP upgrades the XJ6 with premium leather interior, inlaid burl walnut trim, lambswool rugs, wood/leather steering and chrome moldings. The XJR upgrades the XJ6 with a supercharged engine which outputs 322 hp, sport-tuned speed sensitive steering, maple trim and shift knob, CD changer and heated rear seats. The XJ12 upgrades the VDP with a 6.0L engine, autolux leather and CD player. The All-Weather package is optional for XJ6 and VDP and standard on the other models. Along with other items, the engine heater and Special paint are optional.
