Overview

The 1996 GMC Sonoma 2WD is available in five models: SL and SLS in short bed and long bed, and SLS Club Coupe extended cab. For 1996 all models feature daytime running lights and a variety of new exterior colors. Standard features include a 2.2L engine, anti-lock brakes, AM/FM stereo, tinted glass and power steering. SLS models feature cloth interior trim, carpeting, floor mats and wheel trim. The SLE decor package adds aluminum wheels and bright exterior trim. Options include all-new 170 and 180 hp Vortec 4.3L engines, automatic transmission and air conditioning. Aluminum wheels, stereo upgrades and remote keyless entry are also available. Smooth Ride, Heavy Duty and Sport suspension packages are available on select models.
