Overview

The 1996 GMC Sonoma 4WD is available in five models: SL and SLS in short bed and long bed, and SLS Club Coupe extended cab. For 1996 all models feature daytime running lights and a variety of new exterior colors. Standard features include a 180 hp 4.3L Vortec engine, Insta-Trac four-wheel drive, tinted glass and four-wheel anti-lock brakes. SLS models feature carpeting, cloth interior trim, dual power outlets and wheel trim. The SLE decor package adds aluminum wheels and bright exterior trim. Options include a 190 hp engine, automatic transmission and air conditioning. Aluminum wheels, stereo upgrades and remote entry are also available. Smooth Ride, Heavy Duty, Off-Road and Highrider suspension packages are available on select models.
