The 1996 K2500 is available in three models- Regular Cab Fleetside H/D and Extended Cab Fleetside L/D and H/D. New for 1996, the K2500 is introducing a family line of Vortec engines. The Vortec engines have increased horsepower and torque over the engines they have replaced. Standard safety features include driver's side air bag on L/D model, side impact door beams and daytime running lamps which are new for this year. Stainless steel exhaust system, intermittent windshield wipers, dual power points, AM/FM stereo, seven wire trailering harness, tow hooks and tinted glass are all standard equipment. Preferred Equipment Groups are also available.
