Overview
The 1996 K1500 is available in five models- Regular Cab Fleetside W/T, Fleetside, Sportside, Extended Cab Fleetside and Extended Cab Sportside. New for 1996, the K1500 is introducing a family line of Vortec engines. The Vortec engines have increased horsepower and torque over the engines they have replaced. Standard safety features include driver's side air bag, side impact door beams and daytime running lamps which are new for this year. Stainless steel exhaust system, intermittent windshield wipers, seven wire trailering harness and tow hooks are all standard equipment. Heavy duty chassis, skid plates and a Snow Plow Package are also available.
