Overview
The 1996 328 is available in three models - i sedan, iS coupe and iC convertible. New for 1996, all 328+s receive a new 2.8-liter 190 hp inline-six engine, which increases the torque output from 181 to 207 lb.-ft. Also new is an automatic climate control with separate left/right temperature settings and microfiltered ventilation. The engines ignition and fuel-injection system require no routine service except periodic spark plug replacements. The Service Interval Indicator recommends maintenance on the basis of actual car use rather then fixed mileage intervals. Standard features on all 328+s include retained accessory power, central locking system and exterior closing of windows and sunroof from exterior door locks. Optional packages are also available.
