Overview

For 1997, the Audi A6 features a revised dual channel pneumatic central locking system. The central locking system unlocks doors and turns on interior lights in the event of airbag deployment. Interior monitoring sensors are incorporated with the theft deterrent system. The optional glass sunroof replaces the standard steel sunroof and the satin cloth interior replaces the velour cloth of 1996 models. The Quattro models include sixteen-inch alloy wheels, P205/55R16 tires and power glass sunroof. The wagon includes a roof rack, cargo cover, luggage net and tie-down anchors as standard equipment. According to the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration+s 35mph front barrier crash testing, the A6 received a five-star rating.
