Overview

For 1997, the Bonneville remains virtually unchanged for with the exception of a new electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission with a supercharged engine (optional on the SE), standard on the SSE. A new optional Delco/Bose eight-speaker premium sound system is available with a AM/FM stereo and CD player on the SSE. Additional new features include a new interior fabric, revised safety belts and a motorized head-up display. Options include leather interior, sunroof, aluminum wheels and Computer Command Ride Handling Package. The 1997 Bonneville placed first in a recent quality index survey which measured consumer assessment of comfort, performance, styling and dealership experience.
