Overview
The 1997 Sable is available in two models - GS and LS. The Sable is essentially a carryover from last year. Changes consists of the calibration of the transmission for improved shift feel and a new accelerator cable system (Duratec) to help improve the accelerator response. The interior was changed and now offers two-way headrests and a new power point option (late availability). Other interior changes consist of door map pockets, a change in high-end optional stereo and improved visor vanity mirrors. Light Denim Blue has been added to the list of exterior paint colors. The sister car for Sable is the Ford Taurus.
