Campbell, Calif. (October 27, 2010) – IntelliChoice, part of the Motor Trend Automotive Group (MTAG) and the market leader in automotive ownership cost and car value analysis, today announced the promotion of Tyler Schulze to the position of Vice President and General Manager.
Schulze joins IntelliChoice on the heels of a significant re-organization earlier in the year as MTAG was formed to harness the power and strength of key brands such as Motor Trend, Automobile, Motor Trend Classic, Truck Trend, Motor Trend Auto Shows and eight in-market websites including IntelliChoice and Automotive.com.
As part of this new move, Schulze will oversee the transition of the IntelliChoice brand to a multi-media platform with assets such as mobile, video, print and licensed products, in addition to IntelliChoice.com. He will report directly to Ira Gabriel, Sr. Vice President of MTAG.
Charlie Vogelheim, Editor and Publisher of IntelliChoice will continue in his current role of overseeing editorial and data analytics for IntelliChoice and will add new responsibilities with Motor Trend Radio. The IntelliChoice staff will continue to report to Vogelheim, who will report directly to Schulze.
Schulze most recently served as Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Development for Source Interlink Media, where he was responsible for strategic partnerships, evaluating potential acquisitions, and certain aspects of business development.
“During Tyler’s career, he has been instrumental in driving results from strategic business development opportunities, which have created tremendous value for the company,” said Gabriel. “The IntelliChoice mission remains to provide consumers with pertinent information so they can make better automotive purchase decisions. Tyler’s leadership and strategic vision will be an asset to take us to the next level.”
Schulze began his automotive career at Deloitte Consulting in Detroit. In 2003, he joined Primedia (now Source Interlink Media) in Business Development and went on to hold a variety of strategy, finance, and development positions with Source Interlink.
He holds a BA degree in Economics & Management from Albion College in Michigan with an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA.
”IntelliChoice has been an authoritative brand in the automotive industry for 25 years, and the leader in cost of ownership data and analysis,” said Mr. Schulze. “In a word, IntelliChoice stands for ‘value’ in all things automotive. In the coming months, IntelliChoice will be introducing several new and exciting programs and products in line with this brand identity and mission.”
