IntelliChoice.com Names Best Luxury and Non-Luxury Automotive Brands
CAMPBELL, Calif., September 8, 2008--IntelliChoice.com (www.intellichoice.com), the leading source for automotive ownership cost and value analysis, today selected the top auto manufacturers for Best Luxury and Non-Luxury Brand Value. IntelliChoice.com chose Toyota as Best Non-Luxury Brand Value and Lexus for Best Luxury Brand Value. Best brand value evaluates a manufacturer's overall model offering, choosing only those OEMs who have full vehicle lines. Toyota and Lexus both earned the top spots because the majority of their full vehicle lines offer both the best ownership costs and best retained value.
"Toyota has long been a brand associated with exceptional quality, durability, and great value for your money," said James Bell, publisher and editor of IntelliChoice.com. "Toyota was also a big winner in our 2008 BOVY analysis with top honors to the Prius, Sienna, Avalon, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, and Tacoma Regular Cab 2WD and 4WD."
Bell continued, "Lexus has consistently shown an uncanny ability to blend luxury and refinement with exceptional overall affordability, especially when you consider its large range of vehicles. The Lexus brand was honored in several 2008 BOVY categories, with particular kudos to the ES, GS, GX, and RX350 models."
Several factors are evaluated for this designation, such as overall retained value, fuel, insurance, maintenance, and repairs. IntelliChoice assessed every brand for overall ownership costs. The assessment included every vehicle included in the 2008 IntelliChoice.com BOVY Awards analysis. IntelliChoice.com determined the average ownership cost score for each brand. Brands with a limited number of models were not eligible for these awards.
