Final Model Line Value Rating
Overall Value Ratings for the model are determined by first analyzing the statistical/economic performance of each vehicle trim, then the groupings of trims within a model line. (Generally these groups are broken out by Model, Engine, Body, Drive and in the case of full-size trucks, Tonnage. Note that in rare instances, if a specific trim possesses very unique performance characteristics, it may be evaluated separately.) An average of this figure is then calculated. These averages are subsequently ranked and rated against the other model lines within the vehicle's class to determine the Model Line Value Rating. Because ownership costs do vary by trim, the individual trim costs are shown, as well as how that trim compared to other trims in the same class ("similar vehicles"), and the subsequent Trim Value Rating.
