2008 Lexus LX570 Review
Santa's Ultimate Sleigh

The Christmas season is a lot of work but also a lot of fun. Especially when you get to see the joy through a child's eyes. But what about poor Santa? This is his busiest time of the year by far, but I don't see the Big Man getting much other than a few stale cookies and a glass of room-temperature milk for his efforts.
I have the perfect gift in mind. His sleigh still gets the job done, but is a bit quaint and I am sure not very comfortable. Transportation technology has grown by leaps and bounds the last few years, and there is a perfect storm of all of the good stuff in one big package on the horizon in the guise of the all-new 2008 Lexus LX570. This would be a perfect ride for Santa, as his Dec. 24th travels take him to all corners of the earth over every type of terrain and in all kinds of weather. After recently spending a glorious day at the helm of this beast, my impression is that there is nothing the LX could not conquer for St. Nick. Plus he would no doubt appreciate the typical Lexus-levels of pampering, luxury, and expected near-perfect reliability.

The new LX is based on the also new Toyota Land Cruiser and is powered by an incredible 5.7 liter V8 rated at 383 horsepower. This refined and velvety-smooth engine is mated to an equally smooth six-speed sequential shift automatic transmission. But trust me when I suggest just putting it in 'drive' and let the magic happen.
Santa would surely appreciate the LX's incredible mix of comfort and safety plus the way this vehicle glides along the highway whisper-quiet yet is tough enough to fight and crawl along some of the toughest trails on Earth. Now I know that a vehicle of this caliber and price (starting at $73,800) will rarely if ever set a single tire off road. In most cases, the tires will never even see dust. But following the Range Rover school of thought, the knowledge that you 'could' go absolutely anywhere and tow just about anything is a luxury all it's own. And I am sure he would also be proud to own a vehicle that has been a winner of IntelliChoice's Best Overall Value of the Year award in it's segment for many years.
And if Santa needed a little entertainment on his long journey, he should bring along his iPod and plug it into one of the sweetest sounding audio systems in the auto industry. The LX570 can be ordered with the very latest Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound system that utilizes 19 speakers scientifically built and located per the unique characteristics of the cabin to deliver an aural sensation that truly rivals a live performance. And if Mrs. Claus and a few elves wanted to come along for the ride, they could all enjoy personalized climate control and individually heated seats.

Please send your contributions for Santa's new ride to our offices here at IntelliChoice and I will work with Lexus to have one delivered to the North Pole right away. And if all of this sounds like something you would also like to put in your own driveway, I hear that Lexus dealers have very large bows that fit over the roof of the new LX570 just right.
