2007 Honda Civic Auto Show Photo

Honda followed its Chicago Civic Si concept reveal with a five-door Civic concept in Geneva. Destined to compete in the popular C-segment, this wee wagon will go on sale in Europe January 2006. The eight-generation Civic promises to edge up in refinement and class, address some criticism with the current range. On the engine front, Honda revealed only that this Euro-centric model would be available with a 138-horsepower i-CTDi diesel engine, along with gasoline powertrain choices. As we've learned in the past, Honda concepts tend to be very close to production models. Although this car will change little on its path to production, we do not expect it to be offered in the U.S. In fact, Honda has been looking at a smaller, Japanese five-door to import and the Euro manufacturer for this makes it a tough sell with the current exchange rates. They can have their diesel wagon. We're more excited about the 200-hp Si version.
