2007 Dodge Caliber SRT 4 Auto Show Photo

The 2007 Dodge Caliber SRT 4’s engine stats are impressive – 300 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque from a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-banger. But the SRT performance version of the new Neon replacement/people mover presented at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show puts all that torque through the front wheels, even though there will be quotidian versions of the Caliber available with all-wheel-drive. Transmission is a Getrag six-speed manual, and it rides on 19-inch aluminum wheels with 225/R45-19 W-rated Goodyears. Front brakes are from the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger/Magnum, and rear brakes are from the Sebring/Stratus. Seems like Dodge could compete with Subaru WRX STi and Mitsubishi EVO by going with all-wheel-drive.
