Dodge Rampage Concept Auto Show Photo

Here’s one way to push back the Honda Ridgeline – build a unibody Dodge pickup truck with a 340-horsepower, 390 pound-foot 5.7-liter Hemi under the hood. The Dodge Rampage concept presented at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show betrays its minivan origins with Stow-N-Go back row and front passenger seating. Its tailgate folds down far enough to be used as a ramp. There’s a compartment behind the rear bumper that makes room for 2x4s from Home Depot (a shot at the Ridgeline’s under-bed trunk) and the dashboard center stack swivels to face the driver or passenger. Bad news for the future of this concept is that the Ridegline isn’t selling well enough to incite a new competitor, and besides, that big, honking Hemi powers the Rampage’s front wheels.
