2007 Cadillac Escalade Auto Show Photo

The first of the all-new Cadillacs based off the GMT900 platform will be the short-wheelbase 2007 Cadillac Escalade. Although the size remains the same and it continues to share many of the underpinnings with its Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon siblings, the new Cadillac offers more style and technology than ever before. Outside, taller, more jeweled headlamps and a new grille dominate the new face of Cadillac, with sleeker body lines, styled mirrors, wraparound fascias, and integrated running board add to the newly updated flowing design. Under the hood sits an all-new 6.2-liter all-aluminum engine with variable valve timing that rates at 403 horsepower with 417 lb-ft of torque that will be mated to a new six-speed automatic transmission. First seen in Detroit, all Escalades will continue to have all-wheel drive systems, with the possibility of two-wheel drive models becoming an option down the road. Inside, the cabin is more spacious due in large part to the dash being lowered and moved forward, and will be offered in Ebony and Cashmere colors. Gauges have unique instrumentation with white LED backlighting. Short wheelbase models will have several seating configurations (including a 3rd row seat option) and go on sale by summer. We expect pricing to start in the mid-$50,000 range.
