Toyota Endo Auto Show Photo

The Toyota Endo, the latest concept from the ED2 design centre, is an urban-friendly car designed to address some of the key issues of modern urban life, bearing more than a passing resemblance to past conveyances from the show circuit, such as Pod. At just 10-feet long, the Endo measures about the same length as a Mini Cooper and it also seats four. These seats flip and fold flat to allow maximum interior flexibility. And being paperback-thin, the seatbacks are shaped to be super space-efficient. Addressing urban parking challenges, the side doors use a two-link hinge system that allows a wide opening even when space is limited. Likewise, the rear hatch lifts up straight, rather than swing wide. The entire dash is a massive LCD display screen, again exploring graphical themes and the ability to integrate desktop computer functions (e-mail, Internet, etc) and personalization. Given the dedication to these recurring themes, Toyota seems serious about finding the right, high-tech package for a future urban runner.
