Peugeot Moovie Auto Show Photo

There’s nothing feline about this design, unless you call to mind images of Garfield, or Kliban’s cats. In the third edition of the Peugeot Design Contest (www.peugeot-concours-design.com), contestants were asked to express their vision of the Peugeot they would want to drive in 2020; more than 3800 entries were registered, in the hope that their design would win, and actually be built. Congratulations to 23-year-old “Moovie” designer Andre Costa, whose vision of an agile and environmentally friendly city car is motivated by giant wheels wrapped around the doors and steered by two spherical wheels in front (much like the rollerball in your computer mouse), while the bright and elegantly styled passenger compartment is encased in polycarbonite. We’re not sure which is cooler: the cash prize of 6000 Euros (about $7000), or the fact that Peugeot will actually mass-produce his vehicle –- in the form of a 1/43-scale miniature.
