2006 Citroen C6 Auto Show Photo

While the name conjures images of high-performance Chevy, the shape is pure Citroen. Several C6 cars were on display, as the large, swoopy sedan is readied for production later this year. Despite the massive, curve and planar exterior surfaces, the interior is less avante garde, with a more traditional European-style control arrangement. The C6 is packed with Citroen's latest technologies, such as heads-up display, lane departure warning system, xenon direction headlamps, active suspension, pedestrian-friendly active hood system, and an electronic air deflector. Two engines will be offered: a 2.7L/208-hp diesel and a 3.0L/215-hp gasoline engine, both paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The chassis is set up with double wishbones at the front, multilinks to the rear, with an active suspension system. A premium sedan that won't be mistaken for anything else, the C6 charts its own path with prestige and panache.
