Rinspeed Senso Auto Show Photo

We've always been able to rely on Rinspeed to provide concept cars that are imaginitive and entertaining. Case in point, the Senso. Believing that a person who is relaxed and wide-awake simply drives better and more safely, Senso actually senses the driver by measuring his (or her) biometric data, and then exerts a positive effect on him with the help of patterns, colors, music and fragrances. The whole project is based on an elaborate sensory system that forms the heart of the vehicle. It consists of a number of sensors that have the job of gathering data about the driver's condition. But the Senso would not be a Rinspeed if it didn't have the radical and controversial design we have come to expect from this designer. Outside, its interplay between smooth curves and sharp edges reminds of industrial architecture. Inside, the driver sits alone in the middle of the front row, flanked behind by two Recaro passenger seats. Underhood, the lightweight Senso is powered by a 3.2-liter boxer engine borrowed from the Porsche Boxster S and modified to run on gasoline and natural gas. Click here to view a full photo gallery.
