2006 Audi TT Coupe Sport Auto Show Photo

As the countdown continues to the replacement for the distinctive TT, Audi unveiled a special model soon to go on sale in Europe, the TT Coupe quattro Sport. Visually, this Sport model is distinguished from the range by its two-tone finish and exterior styling package with exclusive 15-spoke wheels. But the real magic is more discrete. Underhood, the 1.8-liter turbo four-cylinder engine has been enhanced to produce 237 horsepower. Fitted with all-wheel-drive, the Sport makes use of this extra power with more aggressive suspension tuning. The interior is distinguished with Recaro bucket seats, wrapped in Alcantara leather, with cowhide also dressing the steering wheel, gear knob, and parking brake grip. The most notable interior change is not an addition, but rather a subtraction. To shave pounds, the limited-use rear seat and spare tire have been omitted. The result is not only improved handling, but also swifter acceleration, with Audi claiming a 0-62-mph time of 5.9 seconds.
