All-new for 2013, the Porsche Boxster returns for 2014 with little change. It remains available in two trims: base and S. It received an entirely new lightweight body and a completely revamped chassis last year. The base model is equipped with a 2.7L 265 horsepower flat-six engine; while the S receives a 3.4L flat-six engine that produces 315 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. Both engines have increased fuel-efficiency by as much as 15% due to the use of electrical system recuperation, thermal management and start/stop function. Transmission choices include either a standard six-speed manual transmission or the optional seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) automatic transmission.
