The 2013 Toyota Avalon is all-new this year and is offered in both gasoline and hybrid variants. The updated Avalon features a more progressive and modern styling treatment and though the wheelbase remains the same, the width of the vehicle is slightly smaller. The front end is accented by a new wide mouth lower grille. Structurally, body rigidity has been improved, which enhances the driving characteristics. The vehicle is lighter than before and is powered by 3.5L V6 gas engine, or a 2.5L 4-cylinder hybrid plant with an EV mode that in certain situations allows the vehicle to operate solely on electric propulsion (for a mile at speeds up to 25 mph). At introduction, the new Avalon starts at a much lower selling price than last year's model. Standard features include keyless entry with SmartKey, LED taillights, wood grain accents, leather-wrapped tilt and telescoping steering wheel, power heated leather front seats, and 10 airbags.
