All-new last year, the Volkswagen Passat returns for 2013 with little change. It is available in seven trims: S, SE, TDI SE, SEL, V6 SE, TDI SEL, and V6 SEL. The standard engine on the Passat is a 2.5L in-line five-cylinder engine that generates 170 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. A 140 horsepower 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine and a 280 horsepower 3.6L V6 engine is also available. All engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic controls. Standard features on all models include power amenities, keyless remote entry system, dual zone climate control, and electronic stability control. The top of the line SEL Premium adds leather seating surfaces, rearview backup camera, keyless entry with push-button start, navigation system, driver seat memory, wood grain interior, eight-way power passenger seat, and interior chrome accents. A late entrant to the line-up will be a Wolfsburg Edition trim offered in the late Spring.
