The all-new 2013 Porsche Boxster is available in two trims: base and S. It receives an entirely new lightweight body and a completely revamped chassis. The new Boxster weighs less than the previous generation and rides on a longer wheelbase and a wider track. The base model is equipped with a new 2.7L 265 horsepower flat-six engine; while the S receives a 3.4L flat-six engine that produces 315 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. Both engines have increased fuel-efficiency by as much as 15% due to the use of electrical system recuperation, thermal management and start/stop function. Transmission choices include either a standard six-speed manual transmission or the optional seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) automatic transmission.
