Offered in coupe, convertible, sedan and wagon bodystyles, the E-Class features an all encompassing engine line-up from the BlueTEC turbodiesel to the high performance AMG, and now, a hybrid (E400)has been added to the line-up as well. Updates this year include the new mbrace2 next generation telematics which makes available such advanced technologies as ATTENTION ASSIST, active lane keep assist, auto brake intervention, PRE-SAFE Brake with Auto Emergency Braking, adaptive highbeam headlamps, and Nightview Assist PLUS with pedestrian detection. More popular in Europe than the U.S., the wagon continues to feature such conveniences as a rear facing third row seat, power tailgate, rear air suspension, and electromechanical steering system. The all new hybrid is the first vehicle to feature a lithium-ion battery designed specifically for automotive use.
