The Infiniti G returns for 2012 with little change. It remains available in three bodystyles--coupe, sedan, and convertible and several trims. The G25 is equipped with a 218 horsepower 2.5 liter V6 engine while the G37 receives a 3.7 liter V6 engine producing 328 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Choice of transmissions include a six-speed manual (only available on the G37 Sport models) and a seven-speed automatic transmission with Downshift Rev Matching, Drive Sport mode and ASC (Adaptive Shift Control) that allows for sportier shifts in performance driving situations. The tuning arm of Infiniti, Infiniti Performance Line (IPL), takes the G37 Journey coupe rear-wheel drive model and adds unique exterior and interior treatments, an advanced VQ37HR 3.7-liter V6 engine (18 horsepower over the G37 Coupe), and the suspension, steering and exhaust systems have been specially tuned for performance.
