The 2012 Routan marketed as "the only minivan with the soul of a Volkswagen" is also a sister car to the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan. Designed to be family friendly and functional, the Routan features a multi-media touch screen entertainment system, integrated iPod interface, and easy care Vienna Leather/Leatherette seating surfaces. Three rows of seating accommodates up to seven passengers and safety is enhanced with 40 features include stability control, blind spot monitoring and the new Rear Cross Path Detection System. For 2012 the Routan is powered by a standard 3.6 liter V6 engine that makes 283-horsepower and is mated with a six-speed automatic transmission. The suspension and steering system are tuned to provide improved handling and driving characteristics that are traditionally Volkswagen.
