After skipping 2011, the VW Beetle has been completely redesigned for the 2012 model year, dropping the "New" in the name. Dubbed by Volkswagen as the "21st Century Beetle" the iconic car is now sporting a bolder exterior design that is longer, wider and lower than the model it replaces. VW is hoping to increase the vehicle's popularity with the male demographic. The Beetle will launch with two special edition models in Black and White. The Black Turbo Launch Edition will be offered as VPO (Vehicle Pre Order Only) through the Amazon.com ecommerce platform and is limited to 600 units. Though a TDI model will be available in 2012, the Beetle is currently offered with the 2.0T Turbo and 2.5L engines. Major options offered include a Fender(R) Premium Audio System, panoramic sunroof, keyless/pushbutton start, and LED daytime running lights with bi-xenon headlamps.
