The 2012 Ford Edge is available in four trims: SE, SEL, Limited, and Sport in either 2WD or AWD configurations. A 3.5L V6 comes standard on Limited and SEL, with a 3.7L standard for the Sport. Ford's 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 engine is now offered on the SE, SEL, and Limited models. Along with the EcoBoost engine comes aerodynamic enhancements and other technologies to help save fuel. Active grille shutters help optimize aerodynamics by using vents to control airflow through the grille to the cooling system and engine compartment. 10-way power lumbar and reclining driver's seat are now standard on the SEL and Limited and passenger seat on Limited. There are five new exterior colors for this model year: Ginger Ale Metallic, Mineral Gray Metallic, Cinnamon Metallic, Dark Blue Pearl Metallic, and Black. The Edge is a sister car to the Lincoln MKX. SE AWD models are Fleet only.
