After a redesign last year, the 2012 BMW X3 continues in two models: xDrive28i and xDrive35i. The X3 is powered by either a 240 horsepower 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine or a turbocharged 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Standard equipment includes an on-board computer, keyless remote entry, dynamic stability control, and tire pressure monitoring system. Updates this year are limited to the availability of a Premium Sound Package (with satellite radio and upgraded sound system), and a standard panoramic moonroof on the to-of-the-line xDrive35i.
