The all-new 2012 Volkswagen Passat is available in seven trims: S, SE, TDI SE, SEL, V6 SE, TDI SEL, and V6 SEL. The standard engine on the Passat is a 2.5L in-line five-cylinder engine that generates 170 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. A 140 horsepower 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine and a 280 horsepower 3.6L V6 engine is also available. All engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic controls. Standard features on all models include power amenities, keyless remote entry system, dual zone climate control, and electronic stability control.
