After a complete redesign last year, the 2012 Ford Explorer enters the new model year with no major changes. Updates are limited to revised color choices of Ginger Ale, Dark Blue Pearl Metallic, Cinnamon, Metallic, and Black. The Explorer is also now the first Ford to be offered in North America to come with a 2.0L Ecoboost four-cylinder engine, which provides increased fuel efficiency and performance. MyForddriver connect technology with 4.2-inch LCD screen, cruise control, power windows, cargo hooks, and Easy Fuel capless filler system are all standard. The top-of-the-line Limited features amenities such as remote start, ambient lighting, power folding mirrors with memory, power seats, and rear view camera.
