For 2012, the Toyota Sequoia continues with only minor updates in safety features. The line-up still offers three trim levels --SR5, Limited, and Platinum (SR5 and Platinum trims are "mono spec" and only available with a preset list of standard features to simplify the buying process). The full-sized Sequoia can tow up to 7,400 pounds, and now adds trailer sway control for the 2012 model year. In addition, a new blind spot monitoring system enhances safety for lane changes. The SR5 features a 310-hp 4.6L iForce V8 engine (introduced in 2010), with the Limited and Platinum models coming with a 381-hp 5.7L engine; both are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission to enhance both performance and fuel economy. Platinum trims also feature such enhancements as an electronically monitored air suspension and diamond cut finish 20-inch wheels.
