The 2012 Toyota Camry is available in five trims--L, LE, SE, XLE and LE and XLE Hybrid. Choice of engines includes a 169 horsepower 2.5L four-cylinder engine with variable timing or a 3.5L V6 engine producing 268 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. The Hybrid is equipped with a 2.4L four-cylinder engine combined with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a combined output of 187 horsepower. The engines are mated to a five-speed manual (2.5L engine only), a six-speed automatic transmission or a continuously variable transmission (Hybrid only). Standard safety features include tire pressure monitor, trunk entrapment release, dual front airbags, front and rear head curtain airbags, knee airbags, and front side impact airbags. Optional features include heated mirrors, leather seats, and DVD-based voice activated navigation system.
