The 2012 Toyota 4Runner returns with no major changes and continues in SR5, Trail, and Limited trims. Updates this year are limited to the addition of new audio/connectivity features, including Toyota Entune service. Optionally available this year are new automatic running boards. The new generation 4Runner is overall larger than the previous model and offers the flexibility between two-or three-row seating. It is powered by a 4.0L V6 engine which produces 270 horsepower and utilizes variable valve timing technology for improved fuel efficiency. Trail models feature distinctive dark smoke treatments on the headlights and tail lamps, and come equipped more appropriately for off-road performance. The Limited and SR5 trims add exterior chrome treatments, front bumper moldings and fender flares for an aggressive appearance.
