The 2012 Porsche 911 line-up consists of a mixture of six-generation (997) and seventh-generation (991) models. It is available in 27 models, ranging from the Base Carrera RWD coupe, to the high-end performance GT3 RS 4.0. The Carrera and Carrera S coupes are available in both the sixth-generation (997) and seventh-generation (991). The seventh-generation Porsche 911 is longer, lower, has a wider front track. It also includes new features such as a new rear axle design to improve dynamic precision and stability, a new electro-mechanical power steering system, Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), enhanced Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and enhanced dynamic engine mount technology created for the last generation 911 GT3. The Carrera receives a new 3.4L 350 horsepower flat-six engine; while the Carrera S is powered by the same 3.4L flat-six engine but produces 400 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.
